C’River Commissioner Tasks Youth On Nigeria’s Image
The Cross River State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mrs. Rosemary Archibong has urged youths in the state to be true representation of the nation as Nigeria has recorded great impact among the comity of nations.
Mrs Archibong stated this during the Premiering of a Documentary on the Pride and Glory of Nigeria by corps members serving in the State at Transcorp Hotel, Calabar.
She said despite all attempts to tarnish the image of Nigeria, the nation has remained relevant and expressed joy for the intellectual material, maintaining that it was in line with what the Ministry of Information and Orientation is doing for Cross River State at 50.
Speaking further, she maintained that the Governor, Prof. Ben Ayade was delighted at what they had displayed, noting that it is an indication of the hospitality and the enabling environment provided by the State and pledged government’s continued commitment to improve upon its responsibility to serving corps members
According to her, you have come to serve not only that, go further to task yourselves on this noble cause that shows a generation of people who think positive beyond the normal.
The Commissioner who commended the corps members for their laudable project, enjoined them to believe in the Nigeria dream while admonishing them not to allow the few bad apples to spoil the whole nut but to maintain the tempo.
Also speaking, the State Coordinator, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs. Stella Okah said the documentary was aimed at giving the youth a proper reorientation with a strong vigour, adding that it was a call to intellectual reawakening in the great nation.
She thanked the Commissioner and others for finding out time to grace the occasion despite the tight schedule.
