IAUE To Graduate First PG Students In Dec
The Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) is billed to graduate the first batch of its Post Graduate (PG) students in December 2017.
Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele, made this known at the weekend during the 8th Matriculation of the institution.
“It is my pleasure to inform you that Ignatius Ajuru University Post Graduate School has hit the ground running. We have admitted the first batch of our Post Graduate Students.
“The Dean of Graduate School has been given a charge to graduate the first batch by November – December 2017”, he said.
Towards achieving this feat, the Vice Chancellor said as was his resolve during his inauguration, any obstacle on our way to achieve this feat, must be crushed”.
Explaining the benefit and implication to the matriculating students, Prof. Ndimele said those of them who would want to opt for post graduate studies on completion of a first degree would have the advantage of continuing with the institution.
“The birth of a brand new Post Graduate School is good news for you, freshmen and women, because by the time you finish your first degree with good grades, continuing here for your graduate programme will not be a problem. Our best graduating students will have slots”, he said.
As means of encouraging students, he further announced that the sum of N1 million naira will be set aside annually for the best graduating student.
“The Senate has instituted one million naira cash prize yearly for the overall best graduating student of this institution.
“I know I am talking to some one here, and I look forward to handing you that check at your convocation. This is the time to lay the foundation towards winning the prize”, he said.
