Maintenance Agency Rehabilitates 13 Roads In Rivers

The Rivers State Road
Maintenance and Rehabilitation Agency has completed the rehabilitation of 13 roads in three local government areas of Rivers State, while six others are currently undergoing rehabilitation.
The roads cut across Port Harcourt, Obio/Akpor and Abua/Odual local government areas of the state.
In a report that was made available to The Tide, the Chairman of the agency, chief Okey Okah said 13 roads including Waja Junction by Trans-Amadi road junction, Elekahia; Eastern Bye-Pass, Ogbunabali, Woji road, GRA II, and NTA, Ozuoba road by Airport road intersection, Ozuoba, Port Harcourt have been completed, while six others including T-Junction by Aeroplane Drive, by Abuloma Road; Eliwobukoro Street, off Ada George road, Mile 4; and Owhonda Street, off Chinda Street, Mile 4, Port Harcourt.
Okah expressed satisfaction with the cooperation received from the residents of the affected areas noting that Rivers Indigenes had not had it so good.
Meanwhile, road users have commended the Operation Zero Potholes Initiative Programme of the present administration led by Chief Nyesom Wike.
Some motorists who spoke with our correspondent praised the governor for judiciously ultilising the derivation fund allocated to the state. Motorists noted that the Wike government was really out to alleviate the sufferings of people, especially road users, urging him not to relent.
Speaking with The Tide, Mrs Uchechi Emeka who resides at Diobu said the era of driving and wasting fuel was over, and expressed happiness that the residents of the area would no longer contemplate of relocating from the area due to bad roads.
It would be recalled that the road maintenance and rehabilitation agency was set up by Governor Wike to ensure that all bad roads in the state are made passable by both motorists and pedestrians.
