Kate Henshaw Tops 10 Richest Nollywood Actresses’ List
Nigeria’s movie industry
popularly known as Nollywood has gained global recognition as the third largest movie producing industry in the world, Some of the vibrant and outstanding actresses have capitalized on the ample opportunity to create wealth for themselves. A recent report has shown that Kate Henshaw tops the list of 10 richest Nollywood actresses in 2015 and their net worths.
The rating is based on their endorsement deals, recent performances and other businesses they have been involved in over the past years starting from the 10th position to the 1st.
*10: Chioma Chukwuka – N46 million worth: The absolutely scandal free actress has featured in about 70 movies and has raked in millions for herself and family, she earned N8 million from movies in 2007. In 2008, she also earned a whopping N9 million, she owns two houses and various property in Lagos and her home state.
*9: Monalisa Chinda – N49 million: Between 2004 and 2008, Monalisa earned about N25 million. The actress and producer is about to release her movie which is already in its final stages. She also owns landed property in choice location both in Rivers and Lagos states.
*8 Uche Jombo – N49.5 million: The Glo Ambassador and model who earned more than N11 million in 2009 seems unstoppable at the moment. The year 2013/2014 could see her top this list since some of her movies are not yet released and the ones showing in cinemas are still enjoying sold out status across the continent.
*7: Patience Ozokwor – N51 million: The Enugu State born. A-list actress is Nicknamed Mama G in the Nollywood Clan, she is the oldest on the list and she is notable for her tough and “wicked” roles in movies. Mama G who is also a musician has been consistent in the industry and her roles have been raw energy. She is very diverse in her investment with several landed property.
*6: Omotola Jolade Ekeinde – 53 million: In 2007, she grossed N9 million, she has great passion for cars and drives more expensive cars than any actress in Nollywood, her garage is estimated to worth N20 million. The mother of four adorable children, model and musician has recently stepped up her game in the music industry. Her debut album “GBA” introduced her to the music industry, while her second album “Me, Myself and Eyes” has defined her as truly talented musician. The production and promotion of her album cost her a whooping N13 million.
*5:Mercy Johnson – N55 million worth: By 2008, Mercy Johnson had appeared in 15 movies and earned N11.4million from movies alone, the following year she earned N13 million and she featured in the Emen Isong hit movie “Guilty pleasures”. She is also an investor in property including six landed property in Lagos.
*4: RITA DOMINIC – N58 million worth: In 2014, Rita Dominic won the city people’s award as the most outstanding actress. She is also the face of Nokia and Glo Ambassador. She is a business woman and has done well both as an actress and a model. Her assets include landed property and two homes estimated to be worth over N40 million. Between 2008 and 2009, she earned N16 million, most of which came from endorsement deals. She is about to launch a book and produce her own film.
*3: Ini Edo – N60 million worth: Ini Edo has five buildings to her credit, most of the buildings are being rented to tenants. By 2007, she had earned N15 million from her movies and businesses, she has just produced her latest flick “memories of the heart” which will be premiered in United States of America. She is part of the Glo pride pack and she is also part of the project to move Nollywood to the next level. She is fully involved in Nollywood USA.
*2: Genevieve Nnaji – N64 million By 2009, Genevieve Nnaji raised the bar and she was paid $25,000 in the blockbuster international hit movie “Ije” produced by Chineze Anyaene, a model and also a single, she became the face of Lux in 2004 and was subsequently involved with Pronto beverage and Omo detergent.
Between 2004 and 2006, she earned a whopping N31.3 million, N14 million came from her two years deal with Lux $100 thousand, she decided to delve into the fashion industry and launched her clothing line St Genevieve in 2008 which is presently been managed by fashion icon Zizi Cardow and is reported to be N20 million.
There is no doubt that she would have been topping the least with a great margin if she had eventually gotten the Globacom deal. She became the first to be contacted by the telecommunication’s giant for an endorsement deal, she demanded N50 million, while Globacom wanted to sign her on for N30 million. She was reported to have tried to salvage the deal but she lost it.
*1: Kate Henshaw – N67 million: By 2006, Kate Henshaw had earned N10 million, the following year she reached N12 million, the warm and beautiful star is also a model, a former Glo Ambassador and face of Onga, she had since earned a whopping N20 million between 2008 and 2010. Kate has starred in well over 50 movies, she won the Africa Movie.

They Booed, Threw Bottles At Me – Tems Recounts
R&B star, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has recounted the early-career challenges she faced, revealing that she was once booed out of the stage while performing at a school event.
Speaking in an interview with Newsmen, the Crazy Tings crooner shared that she wasn’t only booed but was also harassed with plastic bottles.
“I remember one time I was going to perform at my school as an up-and-coming singer and I thought I was going to receiving a standing ovation.
“But I got booed. They even threw plastic bottles at me,” she recalled.
Tems explained that despite the embarrassing incident and other such rejections, she remained determined to pursue a career in music.
The Tide Entertainment reports that Tems admitted that some of the initial rejections she faced could be due to her conviction to stick to her originality instead of doing covers or familiar sounds like most of her peers.
The Grammy-winning singer said looking back now, she is glad that she didn’t compromise her style despite the initial pressures.

Primeboy Pleads For Mohbad’s Burial
A close associate of late singer Mohbad, Primeboy, has appealed for the artiste’s burial nearly three years after his death.
According to him, Mohbad’s body remains in the mortuary since September 12, 2023, pending burial arrangements.
The Tide Entertainment reports that in a statement Primeboy urged the family, public, and government to permit the burial, stating, “It’s been almost three years since Mohbad left us. His body is still in the mortuary. I’m begging the family, I’m begging the public, I’m begging the government, please let’s bury our brother. He deserves a befitting burial.”
It would be recalled that Mohbad’s death sparked public outrage, protests, and investigations. Ongoing autopsy examinations, police inquiries, and legal proceedings have delayed burial arrangements amid family disagreements and public scrutiny.
