Educationist Expresses Satisfaction With The Tide

Schools has commended the management and staff of Rivers State Newspaper Corporation for doing a good job as the voice of Rivers people.
The Principal of the school, Madam Uluoma Francis made the commendation when she led her students on excursion to Rivers State Newspaper Corporation, publishers of The Tide, recently.
“Nigerian Tide now known as The Tide is a paper that does a lot of good work in Rivers State, and as a school, we intend to give Essay and Article writing on the topic: An Excursion Visit to a Media House; as a way to equip them to be future journalists.
The Tide Newspaper is the best place for them to be, since it is owned by the government, where all the necessary equipment are put in place for proper and effective functioning”, she said.
She expressed optimism that the tour would strengthen her students in their aspiration as journalists.
Earlier, the Deputy Group News Editor, Mr Reward Akwu who conducted the students around the corporation had given a brief history of the corporation which he said was established in 1971 and also explained the newsroom activities.
Mr Akwu described The Tide as the voice of Rivers people, adding that the newspaper plays a critical role in the propagation of government policies and programmes.
