Shina Peters Releases Two New Albums

ters popularly known as Shina Peters has stormed the music industry with two new albums making it a total of 16 album releases to his credit and has received numerous awards and recognition for unparalled prowess in the art of writing, composition and choreography as well as musical ability.
The Afro Juju music exponents started singing at the age of ten as a chorister in cherubim and seraphim church. He began his career while playing the guiter with General Prince Adekunle, later formed his own group with Juju Maestro Segun Adewale. Shina Peters after releasing many albums with Segun Adewale through the 1980s went on to form his own band “Sir Shina Peters and his international stars.”
Their first album release ‘Ace’ (Afro Juju series) in 1989 went double platinum and was the career break through which catapulted Sir Shina Peters back to limelight, ‘Ace’ was a musical fusion between juju and Afrobeat, a rhymthic collaboration which pierced ethnic, cultural and language barriers in Nigeria.
The second album release ‘Shinamarria’ (Afro juju series 2) went on to further prove that Shina Peters and his international stars band were on the verge to change and revolutionize the juju music scene in Africa. He sold millions of albums worldwide and has taken his music to the shores of South Africa, Europe, Germany, United Kingdom, Italy and United States of America. He is currently signed to orbit entertainment, his USA agency based in New York.
Sir Shina Peters is a well recognized symbol of music evolution in Nigeria popularizing one of Africa’s most important genres, he is seen as a force for great musical movements. To say that Sir Shina Peters is an indefatigable performer is like stating the obvious. The Afro Juju Ace, who is in his late 50s put up a scintillating performance recently at the City People Awards in lagos where he thrilled the audience with a lot of his popular tunes.

They Booed, Threw Bottles At Me – Tems Recounts
R&B star, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has recounted the early-career challenges she faced, revealing that she was once booed out of the stage while performing at a school event.
Speaking in an interview with Newsmen, the Crazy Tings crooner shared that she wasn’t only booed but was also harassed with plastic bottles.
“I remember one time I was going to perform at my school as an up-and-coming singer and I thought I was going to receiving a standing ovation.
“But I got booed. They even threw plastic bottles at me,” she recalled.
Tems explained that despite the embarrassing incident and other such rejections, she remained determined to pursue a career in music.
The Tide Entertainment reports that Tems admitted that some of the initial rejections she faced could be due to her conviction to stick to her originality instead of doing covers or familiar sounds like most of her peers.
The Grammy-winning singer said looking back now, she is glad that she didn’t compromise her style despite the initial pressures.

Primeboy Pleads For Mohbad’s Burial
A close associate of late singer Mohbad, Primeboy, has appealed for the artiste’s burial nearly three years after his death.
According to him, Mohbad’s body remains in the mortuary since September 12, 2023, pending burial arrangements.
The Tide Entertainment reports that in a statement Primeboy urged the family, public, and government to permit the burial, stating, “It’s been almost three years since Mohbad left us. His body is still in the mortuary. I’m begging the family, I’m begging the public, I’m begging the government, please let’s bury our brother. He deserves a befitting burial.”
It would be recalled that Mohbad’s death sparked public outrage, protests, and investigations. Ongoing autopsy examinations, police inquiries, and legal proceedings have delayed burial arrangements amid family disagreements and public scrutiny.
