Jenifa’s Diary, a comedy TV series debuts in Television starting from April following demands from Television Watchers. Jenifa’s diary is a comedy television series that depicts the hilarious and amazing adventures of Suliat Ak Jenifa: A secondary school drop out turned hairdresser who lives in a backwater town called Aiyetoro.
Jenifa is loud, over bearing and very opinionated. She nurses the ambition of leaving her community and making something for herself, she is always trying to prove her worth and wants to be recognized and ‘feel among.’ Her competitive spirit with her peers comes to the forefront when she realizes many of her friends in Aiyetoro are in higher institutions.
Jenifa is motivated to leave her community and pursue her dream of attending a higher institution and becoming a huge success and to enhance her status in Aiyetoro. Jenifa manages to borrow and even swindles one of her illiterate Aiyetoro ‘ toasters’ to raise enough money for her exodus to Lagos. Jenifas diary follows this epic comedic journey as she drives in lagos and lets all hell loose.
Jenifa’s diary will be another innovative ground breaking Nigerian comedy concept Jenifa is particularly attached to her diary in which she writes down her daily experiences and uses the medium to involve the audience in thoughts and actions. Everything that is written in the diary including the grammatical errors, is transcribed unto the screen and the medium of Jenifa’s voice over sharing her thoughts further magnifies her guirks and eccentricities.
With unexpected turn of events, Jenifa’s adventures will take her from the streets of Lagos to high class shows to the corridors of universities which she does not attend from crowded school hostels to Adult education classes and back to the streets of Lagos all in her quest to gain admission into a higher institution.
Jenifa’s diary still opens to corporate sponsorship, promises to be one of the greatest in Nigeria’s Television history.
The film is directed by Edmund Eraibe, it is funny, educative entertaining with prestine performance TV history.
It is a perfect set with robust cast and cameo appearances from Banky W, Beverly Osu, song stress Waje, Wunmi Obi DJ Spinall, Amaechi Muanagor, Ali Nuhu and Alex Ekubo. Other talents include Lola Chukwu, Kunle Afod, Juliana Olayode Tope Adebayo, Pa Ojoge, among others.

They Booed, Threw Bottles At Me – Tems Recounts
R&B star, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has recounted the early-career challenges she faced, revealing that she was once booed out of the stage while performing at a school event.
Speaking in an interview with Newsmen, the Crazy Tings crooner shared that she wasn’t only booed but was also harassed with plastic bottles.
“I remember one time I was going to perform at my school as an up-and-coming singer and I thought I was going to receiving a standing ovation.
“But I got booed. They even threw plastic bottles at me,” she recalled.
Tems explained that despite the embarrassing incident and other such rejections, she remained determined to pursue a career in music.
The Tide Entertainment reports that Tems admitted that some of the initial rejections she faced could be due to her conviction to stick to her originality instead of doing covers or familiar sounds like most of her peers.
The Grammy-winning singer said looking back now, she is glad that she didn’t compromise her style despite the initial pressures.

Primeboy Pleads For Mohbad’s Burial
A close associate of late singer Mohbad, Primeboy, has appealed for the artiste’s burial nearly three years after his death.
According to him, Mohbad’s body remains in the mortuary since September 12, 2023, pending burial arrangements.
The Tide Entertainment reports that in a statement Primeboy urged the family, public, and government to permit the burial, stating, “It’s been almost three years since Mohbad left us. His body is still in the mortuary. I’m begging the family, I’m begging the public, I’m begging the government, please let’s bury our brother. He deserves a befitting burial.”
It would be recalled that Mohbad’s death sparked public outrage, protests, and investigations. Ongoing autopsy examinations, police inquiries, and legal proceedings have delayed burial arrangements amid family disagreements and public scrutiny.
