the Diobu axis of Port Harcourt City Local Governemnt Area have threatened to shut down the operations of the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC) over the poor power supply in the area.
The youth, who marched through various streets in the city with placards also threatened to disrupt the governorship elections in the state if power is not restored to the area.

The leader of the protesting youths, Mr Clinton Emmanuel told The Tide that the area has not had light in the last three weeks, stressing that this has worsened the sufferings of the people.
Emmanuel said that even with the absence of light, the people were being asked to pay bills in arrears.
He also threatened that no PHEDC official will be allowed into Diobu again for the collection of electricity bills until the situation normalises.
The leader of the protesters further vowed that youths in the area were determined to continue the protest until electricity is restored to the entire Diobu and Port Harcourt City.
Other protesters who also spoke to The Tide, said that the youths will continue to monitor the activities of Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company as far as the collection of bills was concerned
When The Tide visited the Diobu Zonal Office of the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, most of the offices were closed.
