2015: Senator Ake Wants Rivers S’ East To Produce Governor
The Senator representing
Rivers West in the National Assembly, Senator Wilson Ake has tipped Rivers South East to produce the next Governor of the State.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after consultative meeting with stakeholders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) at Evema last Sunday in the Ogba Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area, Senator Ake said that Rivers People must respect their diversities by allowing the South East to produce the next Governor of the state.
According to him the Former Minister of State for Education, Chief Barrister Nyesome Wike cannot break the chord which binds the unity of the state.
He stressed that the multi ethnic diversity of the state must not only be respected but preserved for the continuous peace and progress of the state.
Meanwhile , Senator Ake has condemned the withdrawal of security aides attached to the speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Aminu Tambuwal.
He said that the action was on infringement on the fundamental human rights of the speaker, stressing that Nigerians must rise up to condemn it and urged both the federal government and the inspector-General of Police to respect the constitution.
The lawmaker said that the All Progressive Congress (APC) was already putting in place strategies to bring about the needed change to the country.
He also urged the people to avail themselves of the forth-coming voters registration exercise by coming out enmess for the permanent voters’ cards while those yet to register should avail themselves of the opportunity by registering for the exercise.
Senator Ake commended the people for the massive turn-out at the stakeholders meeting and called for continous support for the APC in the state.
