The Tide Loses Staff, Condoles With Widow

The management of the Rivers State Newspaper Corporation, publishers of The Tide newspaper has expressed shock over the sudden and untimely death of one of their staff, Mr. Paul Marcus.
Marcus, a staff of the maintenance department of the corporation died after a sudden illness at about 9.30pm on Wednesday at his Okwuzu residence in Port Harcourt.
General Manager of the corporation, Mr. Celestine Ogolo who led other management staff of the corporation on a condolence visit to the family of the deceased, described the incident as very shocking and unbelievable as the deceased was not in any way sick before the incident.
Ogolo who also described late Marcus as a diligent staff, said that the vacuum created by the death will take a long time to fill.
He however urged the wife of the deceased to take solace that her departed husband lived a life worthy of emulation, noting that the only thing to do now was to preserve his legacy.
The General Manager also urged her to give glory to God as He knows why it happened and assured the family of the support of the corporation.
Also speaking, the Business Development Director of the corporation, Sir. Valentine Ugboma urged the widow to strive to put the incident behind her, as her attention was more needed by the children.
He also enjoined her to draw closer to God. Prayers were offered for the soul of the departed and for protection of the family.
