FG Gives 21 – Day Notice On EIA
The Federal Ministry
of Environment has announced a 21 day public notice on the proposed Okono/Okpoho offshore production OML 119 in Rivers State.
This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen by the Federal Ministry of Environment.
The statement signed by the permanent secretary said that the draft of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report on the proposed project submitted by Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (MPDC) would also be displayed at four centres in Port Harcourt and Abuja respectively.
According to the statement, the displayed centres are: Rivers State Ministry of Environment Port Harcourt, Federal Ministry of Environment office Port Harcourt, Environment House Independence Way Abuja and Federal Ministry of Environment, Maitama Abuja.
It further said that the proposed project would involve the drilling of two exploratory oil wells in Okono/Okpoho fields which would be connected by flowlines and pipelines to the floating production storage and offline loading facility in OML 119 which is about 55km offshore from the Bonny Terminal in Rivers State.
