Commissioner Warns Youths Against Violence
The Commissioner for Lo
cal Government Affairs, Mr Samuel Eyiba has warned that disorderliness and violence, portend great danger to a conducive environment and the development of society.
He gave the warning, while receiving an award by Niger Delta Peace Movement World wide (NDPMW) recently in his office and noted that Niger Delta States would have developed beyond their present level if not for the challenges they had in recent times.
He urged the group to continue in their struggle to build a better country, stating that a collaborative effort would make the process attainable.
He said the award given him by NDPMW, would spur him to greater action, noting that the best recognition was the one from one’s kinsmen.
Earlier, the President-General of the body, Comrade Noah Jefferson, said the commissioner was chosen due to his resolute action in the areas of accountability and service to humanity.
He also said that provision of training opportunities for the youth, employment and his total support for youth development were part of the reasons he was chosen for the award.
Jefferson hinted that his group was in league with many international organisations adding that good work can not go unrewarded.
Also speaking, the vice president – general of the association, Comrade Itobo Ofemi, told their host that his gentle approach to issues had won him the groups love and respect, adding that the members will continue to support the commissioner if he decides to move up the political ladder.
