‘How To Enjoy Christ’s Resurrection Blessings’
Christian faithful in Nigeria
have been urged to remain strong in the faith to enjoy the salvation which the resurrection of Jesus Christ brings to mankind.
They have also been charged to be obedient to the word of God, give service to God and mankind and promote peace in Nigeria, especially as the nation moves towards a general election.
A cleric, Donald Jaja Jnr, gave the charge in a sermon he preached yesterday at the Church of All Saints, Christ Healing Church of Nigeria, Borikiri, Port Harcourt to mark Easter Sunday, the resurrection day of Jesus Christ.
In the sermon with the theme: “Faith in the Resurrection Power of Jesus Christ,” the preacher narrated the story of the resurrection as captured in the Bible Book of Matthew 28:1-10, stating that Easter is a pillar of the Christian Faith.
Arguing that Christianity remained the only true religion, Donald Jaja Jnr said that while founders of other religions never rose from the grave, Christ is the only one who prophesied his betrayal, crucifixion and resurrection which came to pass.
Making references to many Bible portions including 1 Corinthians 15:3-8; 13-22, Luke 5: 5-6, Luke 7:3-7, Haggai 1:14-15, Haggai 2:7-9 and Malachi 3:10-11, the preacher said that if Christ had not risen, Christianity would have been a vain religion.
He charged Christians to obey the scriptures, have faith in the resurrection power of Jesus Christ, give service to God and mankind and pay their tithes to remain permanent beneficiaries of Jesus Christ’s resurrection blessings.
The service was marked with a celebration of the holy communion, praise worship, choral rendition and special blessing to worshippers from the Archbishop of the Church, Most Rev (Dr) Benjamin A. Obomanu (MFR).
