Rivers CP Decorates 58 Officers
The Rivers State
Commissioner of Police, Mr Tunde Ogunsakin has decorated 58 senior police officers of the command recently promoted by the Inspector-General of Police, urging them to be more diligent in the discharge of their duties.
The state commissioner of police gave the charge while decorating the newly promoted senior police officers serving in the command at a brief occasion held at the Police Officers Mess in Port Harcourt, last Wednesday.
According to him, such diligence will justify the confidence reposed in them by the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, saying, they should imbibe the tenets of the police force.
CP Ogunsakin also urged the newly promoted officers to be dedicated to duty, adding that they should do a job that was commensurate with their new positions.
“If you are given CP, you must work as CP, SP you must work as SP, DSP you must work as DSP and down the line,” he stated.
The state police boss while congratulating the affected officers on their meritorious promotion stated that the departmental heads and sectional commanders would decorate the officers promoted to the inspectorate cadre and ranks.
Responding on behalf of the newly promoted officers, Sogbegba West promised to work with the leadership of the command to fight crime in the state.
12 officers were promoted to CP, 13 to Superintendent of Police and 33 to Deputy Superintendent of Police.
