Wobodo Contributed To My Political Success – Amaechi
Governor Chibuike
Amaechi has congratulated former Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, Hon Kerian Wobodo on his 50th birthday, stating that he(Wobodo) contributed to his success in politics.
Speaking at a special church service to mark the former Ikwerre Local Government chairman’s 5oth birthday yesterday at St Michael’s Catholic Church Ozuoha in Ikwerre Local Government Area, the governor said Wobodo had been a political ally for a long time.
He said, “ If you start writing my history at a point Kerian’s name will come in’’.
Amaechi who was full of praises for Wobodo recalled that the former Ikwerre Council boss forgone his ambition to run for the State Assembly in 1999 for him saying, “ imagine if he had not refused how would I have succeeded. Kerian agreed not to run for Assembly so I could run.’’
He therefore prayed God to reward Wobodo for the gesture adding that, “ his political career will continue to rise’’.
Amaechi also used the birthday service to laud the community for supporting the church, while promising that the road that links the community through Omademe-Ipo Town would be tarred to ease access to the area.
He urged the people of the area to embrace the new political agenda which the All Progressives Congress(APC) is promoting by voting wisely in the next elections.
On his part, the celebrant Hon Wobodo thanked the governor for honouring him with his presence. further thanking all those who abandoned their busy schedules to celebrate with him.
Earlier in his sermon titled, “ Jesus is Our Cornerstone’’, Rev Father Dan Duru Chidi thanked the celebrant for coming back to celebrate at home, and prayed God to reward and bless him for his contribution to the church.
