Ikuru Urges Christians To Appreciate Clergymen
Rivers State Deputy
Governor, Engr. Tele Ikuru, says Christians should regularly show appreciation to their pastors and other church leaders for the spiritual services they render to sustain their spiritual wellbeing.
Engr. Ikuru said this yesterday during a special Pastors’ Appreciation Service and Dedication ceremony of baby Songofa Dabibi, daughter of the Special Assistant to the Deputy Governor on Media, Mr. Soibi Dabibi, at the Royal House of Grace Church in Port Harcourt.
He said it has become imperative for Christians to recognise the contributions of spiritual leaders in their lives, pointing out that “these servants of God labour day and night in prayers and supplications on their behalf, just to connect them to God.”
The Deputy Governor stressed that “it is more difficult to manage human resources than material resources because materials would always remain where you keep them unlike humans who would often give problem.” When you see men of God as those that willingly and patiently watches over your soul, feeds you and prays for you; if I were you I will give bountifully”, he said.
Earlier in his sermon titled, “How to Bless Your Pastor,” the General Overseer of the church, Apostle Zilly Aggrey, asserted that pastors are gifts from God to Christians, hence should be handled with care and love.
He urged Christians to be careful with their pastors and refrain “from murmuring, gossiping and disobeying them and causing division in church but be zealous in showing them love so as to be able to get the best from them.”
