Council Boss Advises Corps Members To Be Creative
National Youth Service Corps members have been urged to take advantage of Federal and State Government’s programmes targeted at youths and graduates to enable them to embark on agriculture and other viable ventures.
Chairman of Esit Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Ibanga Etang, made the call in Esit Eket on Thursday when the Batch ‘B’ corps members visited him on completion of service.
He also urged them to be creative, resourceful and industrious instead of waiting for white collar jobs. “You can explore the world as graduates of different field of studies. Take advantage of every available offer to be self-reliant,” he said.
The council boss advised them against idleness but to use their intellect and other skills to prepare adequately for a responsible adult life.
He also implored them to expand their horizon beyond the possession of degrees and certificates as they enter the labour market.
