Traders at the Rumuwoji Market (popularly known as Mile One Market) in Port Harcourt have pledged their unflinching support to the newly constituted 7-man caretaker committee, to conduct a fresh election for the market traders association which had been enmeshed in crisis.
The traders assured of their support during an inaugural meeting with the committee headed by Hon Lucky Wobo as secretary.
The traders who had earlier passed a vote of no confidence on the embattled executive of the association, said the intervention of the Mayor of Port Harcourt, Hon Chimbiko Akarolo, was a liberation for the association which had been in bondage of leadership.
Speaking on behalf of the Rumuwoji Market Traders Association, a trader, Elder Obed Obi, said the constitution of the caretaker committee by the Port Harcourt City Council Authorities, has brought a sense of hope for lasting peace in the association.
