Gokana Utd Maintains Impressive Start In League
Rivers State’s flag bearer in the Nigeria’s Nation-wide Division Two League, Gokana United FC has maintained its victorious run in the divisions nascent season after recording two wins in two matches.
The victories keep the team on line toward realising its target of gaining promotion to the next rung of the league at first attempt.
After dominating their opponents, Bussdor FC 1-0 in the opening fixture at home a forthnight ago, Gokana United last weekend walloped sister club, Omaka FC 3-0 in the second fixture of the two-week old season at the Liberation Stadium, Port Harcourt.
Dennis Nornu, Prince Naane alias PK 8 and Michael Kagbara struck for Gokana to ensure that they left Port Harcourt with an impressive away victory.
According to the media Officer of the club, Martins Giadom, the management of the club remains committed to ensuring that the players maintain good attitude by motivating them with incentives.
He said that the club’s mentor and chairman of Gokana Local Government Council, Hon Demua Leede Demua, and General Manager, Ambassador Solomon Lah have left no stone unturned in seeing that Gokana United and the players get good reward for their hardwork in pre-season and the season proper.
He, however, urged the players to keep up the good work and not allow complacency to set in.
