Group Tasks Govt On Youth Employment
A Non Governmental Organisation, Peace justice and empowerment initiative, (Rwpeace) has called on the three tires of government to give prime attention to the employment of youths as a panacea for sustainable development and peace initiative in Nigeria.
National Co-ordinator of the group, Comrade Success Uju, gave the call during the flag off of a peace campaign in Andoni LGA in Rivers State.
The National co-ordinator, said despite the contribution of Rivers State to the development of the Nigerian economy, many were educated and qualified youth in the state were still walking in inactivity due to lack of employment.
He urged the youths to engage in creative enterprise, and added that the body will resist every form of injustice against Rivers youths.
The coordinator also called on the youths to embrace education to break the shackles of ignorance and prepare themselves for the challenges in leadership.
In his presentation, a renowned cleric Bishop Wariso Abel, said youths should defend their rights by resisting attempts to be used as things in elections and concentrate on measures of creative enterprise that can add value to their lives.
In his remark, the Nation secretary of the group comrade Chidiebere Amah decided the unemployment of Rivers youths by multinationals operating in the State. He called on the Government to prevail on the multinationals to obey the states employment policy and absorb Rivers youths in the systems of operation.
In his remark, the chairman of Rwpeace Andoni chapter thanked the body for Kick starting their peace campaign in Andoni and assured that the peace campaign will be properly domesticated in the area.
The body also stated that the campaign will be carried the 23 LGS of Rivers State.
