NAMA Defends Revenue Automation
The Managing Director, Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, Mr Nnamdi Udoh, has defended the new automation policy of revenue collection in the aviation industry, describing it as a strategic drive in revenue generation.
The NAMA boss, while addressing trade union leaders of the agency in Lagos, said that introduction of the automation would, among other things, block revenue leakages, allow for proper billing of aviation service users and prepare agencies for self sustenance.
A statement by the General Manager, Public Affairs, NAMA, Mr Supo Atobatele, quoted Udoh as saying that the antagonists of the new policy should think deeply about its benefits, which comprised transparency, accountability and probity.
“We obviously cannot boldly say we have met the criteria above without automation,” he said.
He also said that contrary to the widely held opinion by the union leaders, no NAMA worker would lose his job following the introduction of the automation system.
