…As NLC Kicks
The chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress, Rivers State
Council, Comrade Chris Oruge has urged the state government to stop the illegal
deductions from salaries of the state public servants.
Chief Oruge who condemned the deduction and described it as heartless,
said that NLC was not aware of any new tax regime.
Consequently, he said the State Internal Revenue Board has
no right to tamper with the salaries of workers, urging the government to
refund all monies deducted from August
and September salaries.
According to him, the organized labour in the state would
down tools if these deductions continue.
He, therefore, appealed to workers to exercise patience as
labour is doing everything possible to stop it.
