LG Boss Sues For Peace
The Chairman of Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area, Hon. Maclean Bethel Uranta, has called on the people of the area to remain calm, eschew bitterness and pursue positive ideals in ensuring peace in their area.
Hon. Uranta made the call in an interview with newsmen in his office in reaction to an alleged clearing of a parcel of land belonging to the people of Nkoro along the unity road by unknown persons.
The council boss advised those living in communities along the boundary with Andoni Local Government Area such as Nkoro, Ekereborokiri, Abazibie, Queens Town, and Kalasunju, to go about their normal business peacefully and should not panic.
He appealed to the state government to release the white paper to enable communities know their boundaries to avert violence.
Hon. Uranta assured that his council would continue to work in consonance with the policies and programmes of Governor Amaechi to ensure that peace prevails in the area.
