Provost Tasks Students On Professionalism
The Provost of Rivers State College of Health Science and Technology (RIVCOHDTECH), Port Harcourt, Dr. Nnanna Onyekwere, has charged students of tertiary institutions to focus more on making themselves employable upon graduation.
He said they could achieve this by broadening their knowledge and developing expertise skill in their areas of specialisation while still in school.
Dr. Onyekwere who stated this while addressing an emergency congress of the institution’s Students Union Government (SUG), regretted that majority of graduates were unemployable due to lack of expertise among them.
He stressed the need for the students to maximise opportunities for learning, noting that “life continues beyond the classroom.
The provost urged the students to always partner with the management of their respective institutions to fight that “we need whistleblowers among you to check corruption in our Institutions of learning.
He decried the attitude of some graduates who instead of assisting organisations and institutions to offer them employment, rather contribute to foster unethical practices in the society.
