Egbeda Declares Support For Amaechi
Egbeda community in Emohua Local Government of Rivers State has unanimously declared support for Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi’s second term bid.
In a motion moved by Mr. John Amadi, community’s spokesman at a gathering of the entire Egbeda community at the place of His Royal Highness, Chief Christopher Nlerum Didia, last Sunday, the community stated that Governor Amaechi deserved his re-election.
Mr. Amadi noted that Governor Amaechi’s achievement in three years had been unprecedented in the state, pointing out that visionary leaders like Amaechi should be encouraged to give their best in the service of the people.
The motion also noted that Amaechi’s achievements had become a reference point in the entire Nigeria federation and urged Rivers people to support the governor so that he could continue his good works as well as complete his uncompleted projects.
Speaking earlier, a commissioner in the State Civil Service Commission, Hon. Ebenezer Omereji, said the community had benefited immensely from the present administration in the state in terms of infrastructure.
Hon. Omereji, a former legislator in the Second Republic, volunteered to lead the community’s campaign for Rt. Hon. Amaechi’s re-election.
The commissioner also hinted that Egbeda people would raise fund to support Amaechi’s re-election describing him as a worthy son of the land.
Hon Omereji urged the community to come out en mass for the voters registration in order to realise the objective of supporting their son’s re-election while reminding them that only registered voters would be allowed to vote.
Also speaking, the vice chairman of Emohua Local Government Council, Hon. Enyie Friday Enyie said the siting of a health centre and two schools were indicative of the present administration’s love for the community.
Hon. Enyie urged support for Amaechi and warned against double registration during the voters registration exercise.
The community’s traditional ruler, Chief Didia also solicited the cooperation of all to support the incumbent governor in view of his achievements.
He re-affirmed Egbeda support and willingness to campaign for Amaechi’s second term bid.
