RSG To Complete Bolo Bridge Next Year
The Rivers State Government has promised the people of Bolo Community in Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area that the on going bridge linking the area with other communities be delivered by the first quarter of next year.
Governor Chibuike Amaechi made the promise last Tuesday while unveiling the new concrete roads constructed as part of the constituency projects in the community initiated by a member of the State House of Assembly Hon. Maureen Tamuno.
Speaking through the State Commissioner for Works, Hon. Dakuku Peterside, the Governor declared that, “we will do everything humanly possible to ensure that the bridge is completed.
The earlier target we gave was December but due to hitches, it will be completed next year”.
The Governor who sent his apology for not being present at the programme, said the pressure exerted by the lawmaker representing the area, Hon. Maureen Tamuno gave birth to the project.
He recalled that contract for the bridge had been awarded four times with full payment made by previous administrations, but abandoned by inept contractors.
Aside the bridge, the Governor promised that on completion of the bridge the state would award the road linking it with Gokana Local Government Area.
The Governor solicited the support of the people to their representative and lauded Hon. Tamuno for her visionary zeal and love for her people, while urging her not to relent in her programmes.
Ahead the voter’s registration exercise next year, the Governor urged the people of Bolo to participate en masse during the voter’s registration. “With our votes at the political arena all things are possible”, he said.
Earlier, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly. Rt. Hon. Tonye Harry represented by his deputy, thanked the people of the area for supporting their representative.
