Oshiomhole Faults Reps On Edo, Ekiti Allocations
Gov Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has faulted the House of Representatives for passing a resolution that allocations to Local Government Councils in Edo and Ekiti should be withheld.
The Governor described the resolution as ill-conceived and an attempt by the PDP-dominated House to muzzle the opposition.
The House of Representatives last Tuesday, passed the resolution on the grounds that the two states arbitrarily dissolved elected local government councils.
The Governor in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Peter Okhiria, said: “the resolution which is a futile attempt by the House of Representatives to assign to itself judicial functions is a clear breach of the Constitution’’.
The Governor said that the action of the House of Representatives was not only laughable but condemnable.
