C’River Distributes Relief Materials To Displaced Persons
The Cross River Government on Friday distributed relief materials to persons displaced by communal crisis in Nsadop community, Boki Local Government Area of the state.
Nsadop and its neighbour, Boje, recently engaged in a violent clash over farmland.
Items donated included mattresses, towels, soap, blankets, cows, clothes, food items, stoves and power generating plant.
Mr. Vincent Aquah, Director General of the Cross River Emergency Management Agency presented the materials at its temporary camp at St. Joseph Primary School in Nsadop.
Aquah appealed to the displaced persons to continue to maintain the peace and to cooperate with security agencies at the camp.
He also told Ata Oku, the Chairman of the Distribution Committee and a clan head in Nsadop to ensure that all the affected persons benefited.
Responding, Oku commended the state government for its gesture and pledged to work in harmony with the chiefs of Nsadop, Kaku, Kashie and Kejip to ensure equitable distribution of the materials..
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) also donated relief materials to the victims.
The materials were received by Aquah on behalf of Gov. Liyel Imoke.
When our correspondent visited the area on Friday, many of the houses laid in ruins.
