Appeal Court Ruling, God’s Handiwork – Ikuru
Rivers State Deputy Governor, Engr. Tele Ikuru, says God, through the Appeal Court ruling, Wednesday that struck out the appeal by the Accord Party’s gubernatorial candidate in the 2007 elections, Chief Bekinbo Soberekon, overturned the machinations of opponents of the Governor Chibuike Amaechi-led administration. Engr. Ikuru, who said this yesterday during a Thanksgiving Service at the Deputy Governor’s Chapel, stated that “the will of the opposition did not prevail as power comes from God alone,” attributing the Appeal Court verdict to the handiwork of God Almighty. The Deputy Governor of the State advised Rivers people to take stock of God’s work in the life of the Governor, noting that God has used him to fast-track the pace of development in the State and bring to an end the crisis that engulfed the State thus restoring peace. He enjoined those opposed to the government to desist from retrogressive tendencies, urging them to forget their differences and join hands with the administration to move the State forward and bring the dividends of democracy to the people. Earlier, in a message titled “A Man God Delights In,” the Pastor-in-charge of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Diobu, Port Harcourt, Pastor Samuel Ogbomode, explained that God provides grace to surmount challenges and uplifts the man in whom He delights, urging those in authority to see their position as the handiwork of God. He said the achievements of the Governor Amaechi-led administration were God’s design as a result of the fear of God demonstrated by the Governor in the performance of his duties, appealing to him, his deputy, and members of the State Executive Council to continue in the same spirit.
