FEC Dissolution: AC Commends Jonathan …Warns Against Sycophants
The Action Congress, Bayelsa State chapter has described the dissolution, Wednesday of Federal Executive Council, FEC as a welcome development, but warned that appointment of sycophants as new members would compound the present political crises in the country.
The acting chairman of the party, Mr. Miriki Ebikibina who stated this in a press statement made available to The Tide, the action of the Acting President Dr Goodluck Jonathan would to a large extent positively reshape the political situation in the country.
He said the position adopted by the dissolved cabinet on the issue of President Yar’Adua’s health was a disservice to the nation, and capable of truncating the nascent democratic rule.
The statement reads in part: “The dissolution of the FEC by Acting President Dr Goodluck Jonathan is a welcome and needful development to put derailing affairs of the nation that would have been timely savaged and saved from the monumental embarrassment caused by the inability of FEC members to salvage the nation in the face of the political logjam”.
“However, the statement continued, they choose to put and aligned their quest and interest for their personal greed and that of the cabal above the collective interest of all”.
With this feat the acting president has demonstrated finally his might and rekindle the confidence of presidential advisory committee and the voice of over 150 million Nigerians to dissolve FEC for their service to the country when it matters most.
“The dissolution, no doubt, will be exploited to eject new energetic drive towards the need for change and transformation,” the statement added.
