Rumuwoji Inaugurates Youth Exco …Nyenwe-Eli Tasks Youths On Peace
Empowered by the Nyenwe-Eli (paramount ruler) of Rumuwoji Community, Chief John Dike and the community’s council, the Rumuwoji Youth Solidarity Movement in Port Harcourt has inaugurated a 10-man Executive Committee to run its affairs.
The new exco is made up of Mr. Kingsley Wobo (President), Kingsley Wigodo (Vice President), Engr. Patrick Chukwu (Secretary), Owabie Worlu (Assistant Secretary), Mr. David Wobo (Treasurer), Oju Chinda (PRO), Aleruchi Chinda (Provost 1), Chima Paul (Provost 2), Mr. Samuel Orluogwo (Ex-Officio) and Mr. Christopher Wigodo (Ex-Officio).
Speaking at the inauguration, the Nyenwe-Eli, Chief Dike tasked the new exco to be focused, purposeful and ensure the sustenance of peace in the community, stressing that as leaders of tomorrow, they should seek at all times to give the community direction for the future.
“You are aware that for sometime now, the youths of Rumuwoji community have not been meeting and for any leader, traditional ruler or community to succeed, it needs the support and involvement of the youths. “See the community first and work with the community council in ensuring that the good things that are meant for the community are attracted to it; he charged.
In an address, the Rumuwoji Community Council through its secretary and chairman, of Greater Port Harcourt Cluster Development Board, Hon. Dickens Worlu described the exco as “a formidable team and reformative body that will chart the way forward for our community, adding “there is no way we can carry-out development projects where the youths are not carried along so the inauguration is a welcome development.”
In his acceptance speech, Mr Wobo thanked the Nyenwe-Eli for hosting the event in his palace and the ocmmunty for giving them the opportunity to serve, assuring that they’ll not fail. He pledged that they’ll seek advice from the council/elders and will refrain from taking laws into their hands and co-operate with the council which is the “supreme” body int eh community in moving the comunity forward.
