Rivers Launches Web Portal ‘Morrow
The Rivers State Information and Communication Technology Department (ICTD) has concluded arrangements for the launching of the State Web Portal in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
The ceremony which is slated for tomorrow at the Rivers State Ministry of Justice Conference Room Port Harcourt would be declared open by the deputy governor of the state, Engr Tele Ikuru.
The move is part of government’s effort to empower and train the state’s workforce for better service and productivity considering the importance it attached to information technology in the emerging super highway.
It would be recalled that the Special Adviser to the State Governor on Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Mr Goodlife Nmekini last September presented laptops to permanent secretaries in the State Civil Service and some top government functionaries in order to enhance their performance and speed up government business.
