Preachers Have Failed In Their Duty – Cleric
It has been observed that preachers of the gospel are failing in their responsibility of telling the people truth about God, as they preach men rather than the real gospel as exemplified by Christ, a trend that is not the fault of the people but of the preachers.
Delivering a sermon at a service of songs in honour of late Prince Christopher Nte Ereforokuma at the Main Bowl of the Alfred Diete-Spiff Civic Centre, Port Harcourt, Pastor Noble Greene of the Rainbow Glory Church underscored the need for Christians and non-Christians alike to abide by the words of the bible.
At the service attended by the Rivers State Deputy Governor, His Excellency, Engr. Tele Ikuru, Pastor Greene said it was only the truth that could attract the mercy of God to mankind.
Other sympathizers present at the occasion were the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Sampson Parker, the Commissioner for Energy and Natural Resources, Dr. Dawari George, members of the State House of Assembly including the Deputy Whip of the House, Hon. Isaac Kamalu and Hon. Ikuinyi-Owaji Ibani representing Andoni Constituency among others.
The man of God who took his message from 2nd Timothy 1:10, reminded the people that death was the penalty for wrong doing, pointing out that the more there are Christians, preachers and churches, the more people sinned and died and urged all to change their ways.
Hon. Orom Nte, Special Assistant to the Executive Governor on 105 Primary Health Centre Project and the son of the deceased, expressed gratitude to all those who turned out to honour their late father, promising that as his children, they would uphold the virtues and legacy of their father.
