CPS Unveils Amaechi’s 2nd Anniversary Plan
As part of programme to celebrate the state government’s second year in office, Rivers State Governor, Rt Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi would on Saturday October 24, this year conduct Rivers Stakeholders round some key projects embarked upon by the state administration in the three senatorial areas of the state.
The inspection, which is aimed at giving the stakeholders first hand knowledge of how money that accrued to the state has been deployed would equally enable them assess the quality of work done.
On the same day, the governor would perform the ground breaking ceremony of Greater Port Harcourt City and the new Port Harcourt International Market, respectively.
A statement by the Ag. Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Blessing Wikina, indicates that there would be an accountability forum next Monday at the Alfred Diete-Spiff Civil Centre in Port Harcourt.
Governor Amaechi the statement further said would in course of the week long celebration , interface with members of the state House of Assembly, party faithfuls and stakeholders, while Sunday October 25, 2009 has been set aside for thanksgiving at the Corpus Christi Cathedral in Port Harcourt
The statement said that a state dinner will on Monday, Oct 26, wrap up the weeklong activities for the second anniversary of Governor Amaechi.

RSG INAUGURATES ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY COMMITTEE
The Rivers State Government has inaugurated a Central Planning Committee to organize the celebration of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD) in the State.
The committee was formally inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba in Port Harcourt, last Thursday.
Dr Anabraba who also serves as Chairman of the Committee
highlighted the State Government’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the nation’s peace and unity.
“These heroes have given their lives for the security and peace of our nation and deserve to be celebrated. The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is an opportunity to show our gratitude for their sacrifice,” he said.
Dr. Anabraba further extended recognition to all Security Agencies in the State, emphasizing the importance of the event in appreciating their contributions to national security and sovereignty.
The annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day, observed on January 15 across the country is dedicated to remember Nigeria’s departed soldiers and honouring the nation’s veterans.
