Genesis Of Examination Malpracties And Solution
Malpractice is an evil or improper practice, professional misconduct, treatment falling short, illegal attempt of a person in position of trust to benefit himself at others’ cost.
Examination is a careful search, a close inspection of student’s trial, test of capacity and knowledge; what has been taught to students only.
Examination starts with daily routings of inspection of finger nails, hair, teeth and other health items, as children get into the classroom; they are constantly examined orally with questions and written expression from the exercise books. Examination is as old as mankind on earth from the time immemorial experimenting through the sensory perception in his environment and he started transferring such experiences to others, he used examination to check upon the effectiveness of what he taught without examination malpractices.
These days students cultivate no more interest in reading culture; which would have helped to develop them intellectually and help them to pass their examination properly. They only have interest in watching films which does not help them academically. They only study two days to the examination day which would not yield good result to passing an examination.
Another genesis of examination malpractice is that teachers have no more interest in child centered method, the government also allows incompetent teachers to be in the classroom.
Enormous gap between theory and practice; regular deployment of teachers from one class room to another encourages examination malpractice in schools. School libraries are not equipped with modern books. No more educational progrmmes organised by government to build students intellectually anymore. Governments no more encourage students, the brilliant ones by giving them scholarships or other awards which will motivate them. Teachers are not well paid and most often their salaries are not paid on time, this encourages examination malpractice.
The use of long desks and benches as seats in schools encourages examination malpractices, in a manner that the students sit tight to cheat during examination. Again, the use of irresponsible workers in the education system to dispatch examination question papers encourages malpractice.
School libraries should be equipped with modern books to encourage reading culture among students. Government should take care of brilliant students by awarding them scholarship at all levels. Educative programmes should be organized from time to time for students.
Competent and serious teachers should be employed at all level of education, ranging from private to government owned schools and the teachers should be well paid. The educational bodies should know the grade of workers that should be allowed to handle examination question papers. They should be responsible and disciplined workers holding post of trust in the school, that should dispatch examination question papers.
The question papers for any postponed examination should be kept in the police station for security purposes.
Although, examination is not the true test of knowledge, but students still need to pass their examination properly and all they need to pass their examination is through dedication and revision of their lessons. They should study their books to get intellectual development and knowledge; to face the world ahead of us. The world need knowledge for positive transformation and greater future generation. We should involve ourselves in educative social gathering that would develop our knowledge.
Students should not fear examination; it is only a careful close inspection or a test of capacity and knowledge.
These advanced causes of examination malpractices can only be positively addressed through the antidotes provided to advance the students in the right direction.
