Director Harps On Need For Children Education
The Director of Wisdom Child International School, Borikiri, Port Harcourt, Mr Stanley Daopuye has said that the school is committed toward setting a high standard in education and inculcating of good moral upbringing in children, as leaders of tomorrow.
Mr Daopuye, who made this assertion Thursday during an interview in his office said youths as future leaders of tomorrow needed proper upbringing and good education, adding that “as a Christian school, it is part of our philosophy to bring up the children it the fear of God as well as impart quality education to them in line with our motto.”
He disclosed that the school had excelled in external examinations, adding that in the 2008 West African School Certificate Examinations WASC, the school’s performance was 70 per cent while the Junior WASC examination recorded 80 per cent.
The Director, also noted that the school is duly registered by the authorities, adding that the approval by the Ministry of Education for the school to establish a private Nursery/and Primary school became effective from 2004/2005 academic year while that of transition to Senior Secondary School was approved with effect from 2007/2008 academic session.
He enjoined Journalists to cross-check their facts before publication and urged parents to disregard publication to the contrary.
He has also threatened court action against the newspaper which published falsehood against the school unless it published an apology, pointing out that their doors are wide open for any one who doubts their registration to visit the school and confirm all documents of approval and registration.

Technology Key to Nigeria’s Socio-Economic Development, Says Computer Scientist
Dr. Legborsi Emmanuel, former state Chairman of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), has emphasized that technology is the sure way for Nigeria’s socio-economic development.
He made this assertion while speaking with newsmen at the sideline of 118th inaugural lecture series of Rivers State University (RSU) held in port Harcourt, wednesday.
He stressed that the lecture, which focused on emerging technology and its impact on the socio-economic development of the country, aligns with the NCS’s economic focus.
He highlighted the importance of building an economy driven by technology, citing the success of the Rivers State Smart Economy policy as an example.
The computer scientist emphasized the need for innovation and doing things differently, asserting that “technology is the only way out” for Nigeria’s development. He praised the lecturer, Professor Mathias Daniel, for exploring the applications of technology in various sectors, including agriculture, industry, transport, and socio-economics.
Dr. Emmanuel underscores the critical role technology plays in driving socio-economic growth and development in Nigeria by leveraging technology, the country can unlock new opportunities and address pressing challenges.
