Commissioner Tasks Teachers, Students On Good Conduct
As both public and private schools resume for third term academic session today, the Rivers State Commissioner for Education, Prof Kaniye Ebeku, has called on both teachers and students to exhibit good conduct in order to promote a good learning environment throughout the session .
Ebeku, who stated thi on Friday, while speaking with The Tide in his office, in Port Harcourt said that the long holidays have given the teachers ,students and pupils enough time to rest .
The commissioner charged the teachers and students to take their academic work seriously, which according to him, is the only sure way to enable the students and pupils to be at the top soas to guaranted them a good future and secure society.
He stressed the need for students to be of good behaviour in whatever situations they find themselves and advised them to engage themselves in meaningful ventures.
The commissioner, urged them to remain focused the task ahead of them, even as he assured them of government’s continued support.

Education Commissioner Seeks media collaboration in Rivers
The River State Commissioner for Education, Dr Peters Nwagor has called on media practitioners in Rivers State to deploy their various communication platforms toward promoting government programmes and policies aimed at achieving sustainable development in the education sector. Dr. Nwagor made the appeal when members of the Etche Ethnic Practicing Journalists (EEPJ) paid him a courtesy visit in Office in Port Harcourt. The Commissioner emphasized the strategic role of the media in shaping public perception, promoting government initiatives, and supporting policies capable of improving the quality of education and human capital development in the state.
