Stakeholders Hail Medical Expert’s New Books
The presentation and Launching of nine books by the Chief Medical Officer and Operations Manager, Rivers State Free Medicare Programme, Dr Osumeabo Dabere has continued to received commendation by stakeholders from both Rivers state and beyond.
The Permanent Secretary, Rivers State Ministry of Health, Dr Godwin Mpi lauded the author for his ability to produce to the public Nine books at a time.
The permanent secretary remarked that “I know Dr Dabere very well as a medical colleague, a fellow civil servant and a devout churchman who is honest and conscientious to work”.
Dr Mpi said it is quite commendable that the author find the time and the discipline to contribute so much in books to impart on people and openly expressed his wish that Dr Dabere would be given opportunity to lead in some higher spheres of life someday.
The Dean of the Church of Nigeria; His Grace, Most Reverend Ignatius C. O. Kattey (JP) said it is very encouraging to see a medical doctor to demystify medical knowledge and blend it with the wisdom of God.
Kattey in his declaration and ceremonial release of the spirit of reading and writing culture in line with the Presidential Return to the Book and Reading Culture noted that such feat is for the total salvation of human beings.
In her own reaction to the development, the Permanent Secretary (Free Medical Care Programme in Rivers State, Dr Mrs Nnesochi P. Offor also praised the author for finding the time and concentration to write nine books which were presented at a time, and appealed to the readers to handle them with care noting that the books are a window through which we see the author’s mind.
Abia State Governor, Theodore Orji also praised Dr Dabere for his success in presenting nine books to the public for launch at a time.
The governor who was represented at the function by Prof. M. A. Mkpa described the books as great capable of transforming ideas and encouraged more Nigerians to imbibe the idea of book writing.

Education Commissioner Seeks media collaboration in Rivers
The River State Commissioner for Education, Dr Peters Nwagor has called on media practitioners in Rivers State to deploy their various communication platforms toward promoting government programmes and policies aimed at achieving sustainable development in the education sector. Dr. Nwagor made the appeal when members of the Etche Ethnic Practicing Journalists (EEPJ) paid him a courtesy visit in Office in Port Harcourt.
