PH School Emerges Best In Mathematics
Dietams International Schools, Port Harcourt has emerged the best school in Mathematics in an Academic Excellence Test and competition organised in Rivers State by Buukpoint Global Resources, a capacity building and resource management organisation.
The competition which held at Celici Memorial Montessori School, Rumuola, Port Harcourt, ended with Master Benjamin Ekara of Dietams International School scoring the highest point of 205 to beat his opponent who scored a total of 176 points in the keenly contested competition.
About 49 selected schools in Port Harcourt participated in the competition.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after the competition, the overall winner Master Benjamin Ekara thanked God for emerging the best student in the competition.
He also attributed his performance to dedicate commitment to academic studies and the encouragement and hardwork of his teachers. While dedicating his award to his teachers, he thanked the management of Buukpoint Global Resources for organizing the competition for the schools.
In his remark, the Business Development Manager of Union Bank, Orije Branch Mr G.E Ubiedi, also lauded the efforts of the organizers of the competition for gathering students from various schools in Port Harcourt for the test which is aimed at boosting their creative intelligence and academic excellence.
He congratulated the winners and urged them to use the platform to improve the academic studies.
Also speaking the proprietress of Dietams International School Mrs Kate LongJohn, thanked the students of the school for making her proud by winning the overall prize in the competition.
She also commended the effort of the teachers in the academic grooming of students, and called on the organizers to sustain the objectives of human capacity training and development. It could be recalled that Dietams International Schools came 2nd in an academic competition organised by Liquified Natural Gas, (LNG) in 2011.

Education Commissioner Seeks media collaboration in Rivers
The River State Commissioner for Education, Dr Peters Nwagor has called on media practitioners in Rivers State to deploy their various communication platforms toward promoting government programmes and policies aimed at achieving sustainable development in the education sector. Dr. Nwagor made the appeal when members of the Etche Ethnic Practicing Journalists (EEPJ) paid him a courtesy visit in Office in Port Harcourt.
