NDDC Assures Of Quality Project Delivery
The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) says it is committed to deliver quality projects in Akwa Ibom.
The Commissioner representing Akwa Ibom in the NDDC Board, Mr Imaobong Inyang, said this in an interview with our correspondent in Uyo.
Inyang commended the level of work done on Eket-Ibeno road, a link way to the operational base of Mobil Producing Nigeria (MPN) at Qua Iboe Terminal.
He commended the contractor for involving the host community in the execution of the road project, adding that Eket-Ibeno road had remained the only access to MPN since 1970 until recently.
“We are poised to combat project abandonment. The present board makes sure any contractor, who completes work, gets paid within two weeks.
“Any project that is 70 per cent completed, we encourage the contractor to go back to site and complete the work.”
Inyang, who was the former chairman of Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Eket branch, said that his priority as NDDC Commissioner was to complete all on-going projects in the state.
“Quality delivery of all projects is our focus, we expect to deliver our projects as at when due.”
He said there were over 270 on-going projects handled by NDDC in the state.
Inyang expressed optimism that the present NDDC Board would fast-track development in the Niger Delta region if given the necessary support by all stakeholders.
