Govt To Demolish Lagos Bus Stop Market
Part of the market near the Lagos bus stop is to be demolished to create route for the Monorail project.
Also to be demolished is the fence of the market facing King Amachree road and traders would be relocated.
The Commissioner for Transport, Hon. George Tolofari who was speaking while inspecting the Monorail project along government house road Port Harcourt, said it goes against international safety practice for traders to be doing business on the Monorail route.

Commenting, The Mayor of Port Harcourt City Local Government, Hon. Chimbiko Akarolo who was part of the inspection team, assured the traders that government would relocate those that could show evidence of being registered with government.
Also speaking, the chairman of the market union, Mr. Jonny Batubo assured government that the traders would co-operate with the deadline of seven days given to them.
The Commissioner was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of his Ministry, Mr. Gogo Isong and some Heads of department.
