Rivers Chief Judge Hands Over 15 Official Cars To New Magistrates
The Rivers State Chief Judge, Justice Simeon Chibuzor Amadi has handed over official cars to the 15 newly appointed Magistrates in the State Judiciary Service.
The official cars are designed to ease the transportation hurdles of the Magistrates and engender efficient service delivery in the Magistracy.
Speaking at the brief handing over ceremony held at the premises of the State Judiciary Complex in Port Harcourt, yesterday, Justice Amadi urged them to use the vehicles judiciously and discharge their duties accordingly with out fear or favour but in line with their constitutional mandates.
He assured them that the state judiciary will continue to promote welfare of the Magistrates and other judicial workers, and thanked the state government for the support to the Judiciary.
The state Chief Judge used the opportunity to advise them to avoid any act that will bring the image of the judiciary to disrepute and assured them of his continued support to enable them succeed in their career.
Speaking on behalf of the Magistrates, the Chief Registrar, High Court of Rivers State, David Ihua-Maduenyi (Esq) thanked the Chief Judge for the gift of the official cars to the new magistrates and urged the beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture and make good use of them as well as strive to be committed and dedicated to their duties.
Those that attended the programme included Deputy Chief Registrars of the High Court,the executive of the Magistrates Association and members of the Bench, among others.
