IWD: Banigo Felicitates With Rivers Women

Rivers State Deputy Governor and Senator-Elect, Rivers West Senatorial District, Dr. (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo, has applauded the contribution of women and girls towards the advancement of technology and online education.
Dr. Banigo gave the commendation in her goodwill message last Wednesday in Port Harcourt to commemorate this year’s International Women’s Day.
The deputy governor said, in consonance with the theme of the 2023 International Women’s Day celebration which is ‘DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality’, she would continue to mentor young girls into ICT to enable them carve a niche for themselves in the digital economy.
The senator-elect urged women to ensure that they work hard and strive for excellence in their spheres of influence which according to her, would promote gender equality and empowerment of women and girls.
She said Governor Nyesom Wike has graciously supported women in the State to fulfil their God given destinies by giving them a sense of belonging without prejudice.
“The Rivers Women are eternally grateful to Governor Wike for not only opening up the political space for more women to be elected into political offices but for also appointing more women into exalted positions of trust and creating the enabling environment for women to actualize their full potentials”, she said.
