University Administrators Task Members On Digital Education
National President, Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA), Dr Victor Bemhas, has urged administrative secretaries in Nigerian universities to update their knowledge in digital education.
Bem gave the charge during the association’s 2022 annual conference and General meeting held at the Rivers State University (RSU), recently.
He said that the main objective of ANUPA is to enhance best global standards in Nigerian universities, urging administrative secretaries in various universities to utilize the opportunity provided by the forum to improve themselves.
He described the theme of the Annual General Conference, ‘Tomorrow And Beyond: Shaping The Future Of Higher Education In Nigeria’ as apt.
“The committees have put everything in place to give you the ambiance for a successful Annual General Conference and meeting, I, therefore, urge you all to optimally utilized the opportunity to improve yourselves and become better university professional administrators.
“The forum provides an ideal platform for cross-fertilisation of ideas among grades of the administrative cadre in the university as well as between participants and resource persons,” Bem said.
Also speaking, Chairman Local Organising Committee of the AGM, Mr Chikanike Woka, stated that the formation of ANUPA in RSU over 25 years ago, has produced resourceful leadership over the years.
According to him, this is the second time in the history of RSU that the institution will host the national event of ANUPA, apart from the National Training/Workshop hosted in 2010.
Woka also urged all members of ANUPA to utilize the opportunities provided by the conference to enhance their job performance.
Earlier, the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof Nlerum Okogbule, represented by Prof Nnamdi Okoroma, had stated that ANUPA has become a household name in RSU due to the vibrancy and doggedness of the Local Organising Committee Chairman, Mr Chikanike Promise Woka the best university in the world”, he said.
