Continue To Uphold Us In Prayers, Ariolu Tasks Obio/Akpor Residents

Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Barrister George Ariolu, has urged the people of the area to be resilient in offering prayers for the growth of his administration to further bring about the needed change and development in the local government.
He maintained that as time progresses, he would continue to initiate lofty ideas that would assist his administration in improving the standard and welfare of people living in the area.
Ariolu made the call when he led council workers, leaders and members of Obio/Akpor Local Government to appreciate God during a Thanksgiving Service held in the council headquarters, Rumuodomaya.
He assured that his administration would continue to give its best to ensure God remains a priority in the activities of the local government.
According to him, the service was an accomplishment of his vow towards dedicating a day to appreciate God for His love and kindness shown to the people of the area.
“What you are witnessing today, once again, is an accomplishment of our vow to God Almighty to specially create a day to thank Him for what He has continued to do for us as a local government area.”
“If you look at political activities all over, we seem to be engrossed with a lot of social activities connecting our game of politicking but having little or no time to thank God that has given us the health and life to even politick.
“That is why we thought it wise that we must pick a particular date in the year as a council to say ‘God, we thank you’, if not for anything, for the gift of health and life.”
Recounting some of the achievements of his administration, Ariolu noted that in the past one year, God has remained faithful in His blessings to the people of Obio/Akpor.
This, he said, was because his administration was centred on service to God and humanity.
The council boss further called on the people of the local government to remain committed and consistent in praying for his administration, promising that he would not fail in his quest to rewrite the negative narrative in the area.
“Please, don’t relent in your efforts in praying for us; we believe that prayer is the key, and we believe that God does not only hear but answers prayers.
“Continue to uphold us in your prayers, because we have very lofty ideas and plans for our people in as much as God has given us the grace to be in office.”
Recognising Governor NyesomWike’s achievements as former chairman of council, Ariolu disclosed that his political history would be incomplete without the mention of the Rivers State governor, who he first served as a protocol assistant.
He explained that without any iota of doubt, Wike remained the political colossus of Nigerian politics today.
“My political history cannot be complete without the mention of this great man, Wike. For me, he is the political colossus of Nigerian politics today, there’s no doubt about that.”
Ariolu used the occasion to thank Obio/Akpor leaders, traditional rulers, council workers, and members of the public for their unwavering support to his administration.
He commended them, particularly for their advisory roles in ensuring that peace, unity and development was evenly achieved across the local government area.
