Ariolu Assures Posh Cartel Members Of Support

Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Barrister George Ariolu, has received in audience members of the Posh Cartel at the council headquarters, Rumuodumaya, Port Harcourt.
Speaking while receiving the members, Ariolu thanked the cartel for finding time to visit him at the council headquarters, stressing that he was proud to associate with the cartel as a member.
He said, “This visit is a mark of honour, and also serves as an encouragement, which will spur me to do more for the people of Obio/Akpor.
“Our administration has provided grants to 50 PhD students who were paid the sum of N700,000.00 each, while 50Master’s students were paid the sum of N500,000.00 each.”
“From January, we shall begin the disbursement of grants to the second batch. Our administration has made it as a policy to train 150 PhD holders and 150Master’s holders.We are proud to say, we are the first local government to embark on such programme.
“We have trained about 202Obio/Akpor indigenes in various vocational skills. We have also engaged our people in maritime engineering and nautical sciences.
“Our administration has given out 12 electricity transformers to various communities in the local government. We have rebuilt the burnt sections of Rumuepirikom market, the achievements of this administration are too many”.
Ariolu added that within three months, his administration would complete the legislative block, and explained that he has changed the narrative of the local government.
Earlier, Chairman of the cartel, Emmanuel Okas-Wike stated that the cartel was on a courtesy visit to the chairman of council to formally congratulate him on his election as chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Council.
He noted that the cartel was proud to have produced a performer as the chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Council.
He maintained that as a coterie of friends, the cartel had confidence in the capabilities of Ariolu, having known his antecedents.
On his part, Leader of the group, Associate Professor Anugbum Onuoha, thanked the council boss for granting the cartel audience.
He added that the cartel was humbled by the achievements of Ariolu as OBALGA Council boss.
Onuoha further added that, Ariolu was known for his uprightness and commitment to service, and congratulated Ariolu on his numerous achievements in the local government.
He further advised Ariolu to continue in his bid to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the local government. As he reminded the council boss, that performance is a function of opportunity.
