PFC Hails Security Agencies Over Waterways’ Wreckage Removal
The Chairman, Petroleum Financial Cooperate Limited (PFC), Abdullahi Alifa, has said he is delighted with the cooperation exhibited by security agencies and some owners of tagged wrecks towards the removal of wreckages blocking waterways in Rivers State.
Alifa noted that his company had received full cooperation from law enforcement agencies, particularly the Nigerian Army, Navy, police and others, towards the enforcement of the court order.
He also commended some owners of tagged wrecks for their cooperation in clearing the waterways of wrecks.
He however expressed disappointment at owners of tagged wrecks who had refused to comply with the court order, warning that it would be in their best interest to show up and assist in the removal of their wrecks from the waterways.
Alifa stated that PFC was poised to fulfil its mandate to clear the waterways of wrecks.
He recalled that PFC had announced to the public last month that the company, which had been mandated to remove the wrecks from Rivers State waterways was resuming the enforcement of the Rivers State Environmental Court Order of July 8, 2020, which had earlier been halted
He stressed that PFC was carrying out the mandate to the letter.
