Commission Urges Christian Pilgrims To Imbibe Good Culture Of Holy Land
The Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Rev Yakubu Pam, has advised pilgrims to practise and share the good culture they got from the Holy Lands in their home country.
Pam gave the advice while receiving the first batch of Christian pilgrims who returned from 2021/2022 pilgrimage to Israel and Jordan, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, in Abuja at the weekend.
The pilgrims left Abuja on June 15 to Israel and the Kingdom of Jordan for pilgrimage.
The NCPC boss commended the active role played by the medical team, the spiritual leaders and the pilgrimage managers for excellent coordination of the exercise.
While affirming that all the 360 pilgrims in the first batch who left the country came back without a record of abscond, Pam prayed that the same testimony would be said of subsequent batches.
He called on the pilgrims to spread the good news of Christ they heard, seen and touched with their hands in Israel and Jordan, urging them to be good ambassadors of Christ and citizens of “our great country, Nigeria’’.
In his remarks, the Director, FCT Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mr Dabara Audu, expressed joy for safe return of the first batch of pilgrims to the country.
“We are happy to be back and hope to make impactful change desired for our nation”, he said.
Another pilgrim and spokesman of the National Hospital, Abuja, Chief Adetayo Haastrup, also expressed happiness for a successful trip.
