2023: Nigerians Need You To Strengthen Economy, Ariolu Tells Wike
Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Council, Barrister George Ariolu has continued to re-echo his call on Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike to rescue Nigeria from the economic woes brought about by the harsh leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government.
He said Wike was a typical example of governance and leadership when it comes to quality representation.
The chairman made this call, last Friday, while addressing newsmen at the official commissioning and handover of 14 ballistic gunboats donated by the Rivers State Government to security agencies at NNS Pathfinder in Rumuolumeni,Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state.
He said the handover ceremony was an indication of Wike’s love towards the people of Rivers State, stating that he was not working as a politician but because of the duty and responsibility he owes electorate.
Ariolu also commended the governor’s effort and commitment towards securing lives and property of citizens, in line with the fundamental principles of governance, which border on security and welfare of the people.
He said the governor was collaborating with security agencies in the state, adding that his security architecture was not only applicable to those on the upland but also those at the riverine areas.
Speaking further, Ariolu described Wike as a man who was energetic and productive, stressing that he has showcased his willingness to govern the people.
According to him, the Rivers State governor has expressed readiness to serve the people even before he was elected as governor.
He further called on the governor to come to the rescue of Nigerians by positioning himself for the Presidential seat ahead of the 2023 general election.
Meanwhile, the state Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike has urged the Federal Government to throw its weight in support of the state government’s security architecture to further fight crimes and insecurity.
He, however, commended the Nigerian Navy and other security outfits, including the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force and Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps for their efforts in fighting crimes in the state.
