NWFL: Omede Expresses Joy For Scoring For Rivers Angels
Rivers Angels FC of PortHarcourt midfielder, Regina Omede, has expressed joy as she scored the only goal against visiting Delta Queens and gave the Jewels of Rivers the maximum three points.
The encounter was one of the matches of Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL), played across different venues in the country held at University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) Sports Stadium in Port Harcourt.
She explained that her target was to score a goal, adding that getting the only goal was a thing of joy.
Omede, stated this on Wednesday in an exclusive interview with Tidesports shortly after the Jewels of Rivers defeated Delta Queens 1-0 in the group B game at the ongoing NWFL
The former Adamawa Queens player stated that she was in Rivers Angels to assist the club to a greater level.
“I feel very happy for scoring the only goal that gave us the three points.
My target before the game was to get a goal.
As a new player in a team, you have to do what you were doing in your former club to impress the coach and the management for signing you.
I thank God for the victory,” Omede said.
Omede, who scored in 13 minutes into the game further disclosed that in terms of players welfare Rivers Angels was far ahead of Adamawa Queens, adding that her intention in Rivers Angels was to support the team to qualify for CAF Women Champions League and Super six.
“In terms of players welfare there is a big difference between Rivers Angles and Adamawa Queens.
I think Rivers Angels FC remains the best in the country,” she stated.
